Stream powers Chat, Video, AI Moderation, and Activity Feeds for billions of global end users across thousands of different apps.
We're constantly hiring backend engineers, but I wanted to take this opportunity to tout my own hire because I'm hoping you'll come work with me... I'm pavlov on HN, been here for nearly two decades, and working in realtime media for a good while longer. Now I run the Video team at Stream and I'm looking for a Staff Engineer. You'd report to me with a direct line to our CTO. Check out the details:

You'd own the media plane of Stream Video. It's a modern stack: SFU in Go, cascading to handle very large audiences, ingest and recording fleets, global multi-cloud edge. Video is fundamentally different from request-based services, which means this is not just a seat in Stream's shared infra team, but a genuine Staff role with its own roadmap defined by you. You can email me directly at pauli.ojala@getstream.io, happy to connect and tell you more.
Full-time role, hybrid with 3 days a week in our Amsterdam office, or remote from anywhere in the EU. Visa sponsorship for the Netherlands.
Also hiring: Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Amsterdam), Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Amsterdam), Senior Fullstack Engineer, Moderation (Toronto).
