Early-Career AI Engineer (Full-Stack, Data Science, Infrastructure/DevOps)

United Risk is a global property and casualty insurance underwriting and distribution platform that builds in-house AI tools for specialist underwriters. This role hires early-career engineers (0–4 years) across full-stack application development, data science, and infrastructure/DevOps to work on AI apps, pipelines/RAG and model deployment on Azure and on-prem GPUs.
What you’ll do
- Application Development: build AI apps and agentic workflows, LLM document extraction with human review
- Data Science: build pipelines, models and RAG/document Q&A to produce risk insight from submissions, policies and loss runs
- Infrastructure/DevOps: deploy, monitor and secure AI apps on Azure and run models on on-prem GPU servers; manage CI/CD and pipelines
What they’re looking for
- 0–4 years of experience (internships and co-ops count); new grads and junior engineers welcome
- Strong Python
- Working SQL
- Portfolios or examples of work to show (GitHub, a deployed app or a portfolio)
- Grounding in statistics (for Data Science role)
- Linux and experience with a major cloud (for Infrastructure/DevOps role)
- Must be able to commute to Rockefeller Center, NYC (live within NY/NJ/CT)

Our in-house AI team builds the tools that make specialist underwriters quicker and smarter: submission ingestion, underwriting workbenches, risk analysis and back-office automation.
All roles: 0–4 years of experience (internships and co-ops count; new grads and junior engineers welcome), strong Python, working SQL, and something you built that you can show us: GitHub, a deployed app or a portfolio. Each role leans one way, but everyone works across apps, data and infrastructure, and three senior AI engineers review your work. Start dates from December 2026.
Hybrid: in office at Rockefeller Center, NYC; you'll need to live within commuting distance (NY/NJ/CT).
