Simple Analytics is a self-funded, profitable team building privacy-first analytics and running their own bare-metal servers. The role owns infrastructure and reliability, initially leading the infra side of an Elasticsearch to ClickHouse migration and collaborating with the developer team.
What you’ll do
- Own the infrastructure and its reliability
- Lead the infrastructure side of Elasticsearch to ClickHouse migration
- Collaborate with developer(s) on infra projects
What they’re looking for
- Experience running and owning bare-metal infrastructure
- Familiarity with the listed stack (Ansible, OpenTofu, Docker Compose, Grafana, GitHub Actions, TypeScript)
- Clear asynchronous communication

Hi HN, I'm Adriaan. Simple Analytics exists thanks to HN: it started with my Show HN in 2018 [1]. Today we're a self-funded, profitable team of four building privacy-first analytics.
Privacy is why we run our own bare-metal servers instead of the cloud. We're preparing for a LOT more traffic, and you'll own the infrastructure and its reliability. We have good documentation. First project: leading the infra side of our Elasticsearch to ClickHouse migration, with Alex, our developer.
Stack: Ansible, OpenTofu, Docker Compose, Grafana, GitHub Actions, TypeScript. Clear async communication matters more than knowing every tool.
