Hello HN, Lisa here from Propel! We're a bunch of interdisciplinary builder-maker-designers leading a venture studio and building software for mining and deep-tech companies. Think IDEO for AI: a small senior team, direct CEO involvement, technical depth married with design craft. We are not a dev shop and not a consultancy, we're not about scope or hours, we're only about outcomes. We embed through the lifecycle of challenges and the same senior people stay on the problem.
AI agents have made engineering throughput cheap, so senior judgment is now the scarce asset: what to build, what to gate, what to trust to production. We're looking for an experienced engineer to join our small crew and play a ~70/30 build-to-lead role: - Raise the team’s bar without bureaucracy - Ship production code - Be the human PR review - Own the quality delivery system as a product - Ship spec-first - Orchestrate AI at staff level
Stack: TypeScript, React, Python, PostgreSQL, ECS/Lambda, Terraform.
We work on fascinating projects with physical implications to the world but more importantly we just really don't work with a*holes, I wake up happy to see my colleagues, the crew loves to laugh and we walk the walk.
