Availapp: Availapp och andra semesterplanerare

06/2017
Mid Sweden University, Faculty of Science, Technology and Media, Department of Information Systems and Technology.

The aim of this study has been to create and compare different holiday planners. The comparison takes place between Availapp, Excel spreadsheets, and absence. Availapp is a tailor-made vacation planning application for CGI Sundsvall/Härnösand that is fully scalable with mobile and desktop devices. The application automatically retrieves personal information from Windows AD at first login. The web application also takes into account social and ethical aspects by using encryption to ensure that information does not reach the wrong people. It also considers PUL and GDPR for storing user information.

When your finger isn't enough: New ways to increase the accessibility of mobile phones

06/2019
Mid Sweden University, Faculty of Science, Technology and Media, Department of Information Systems and Technology.

The objective of this study has been to answer three questions: Can you navigate in a different way than with your fingers? Do you lose any functionality in the application when you are not using your fingers? Is the solution a reasonable way to navigate? The study consists of two parts: creating a navigation library with different navigation methods and evaluating these methods through user tests. The study shows that it is possible to navigate without the use of fingers and addresses problems and solutions for navigating without fingers. It compares the performance of different navigation methods with finger-based navigation.
