Varga Márton József
Software Engineer, Backend

About

I like software development because I can create solutions for complex problems. I don't just think about the implementation, I often look for the root cause of the problem and solve it. Thanks to my experience so far, I have gained the most knowledge in the web area, in Java. In the future, I would like to delve more deeply into this, but I would also like to broaden my knowledge. I am currently studying ccp in my spare time for game development. I feel that I am good at my job because I can quickly understand even more complex systems and see the problems clearly. I am also a good team player. My work is characterized by precision and optimization.

Software engineer
I currently support the Jira team as a backend developer. We create plugins for Jira. I usually do the basics and the backend logic of them. I mainly use java during my tasks, but sometimes I create python scripts for unique Jira needs. More complex developments require a completely separate plugin, where you have to start almost from scratch. Regularly, there are developments that require serious teamwork too(backend and frontend cooperation). In addition to plugin development, I am also responsible for writing and running automatic tests. For this, the team uses a framework called Karate.

Software implementation support intern
At the company, I supported the Jira team in the delivery of functions that meet new business requirements. Most of them were fulfilled by the development team in the form of plugins, which I had to manually test. I had the opportunity to solve the smaller needs in Groovy scripts. During my internship, I got to know jira very well, both at the user/admin level and at the API level. This turned out to be a great advantage in my later work.

Projects

  • Dungeon Typer: I developed a game using Unity, where the player has to type the words appearing on the screen, faster and faster, in order for the character in the game, to avoid the oncoming obstacles. I wrote the logic of the game in C#. The game also included an online highscore system, on which students could compete.
  • Daileeness: I created an application for Android phones in which the user can open a pre-written message every day. I made the application in Java. You can also attach a link to the messages, for example a YouTube video or Google Maps coordinates. In case of a new message, the user will also receive a notification.
