Software Engineer, EVS Broadcast Equipment
Nov, 2020 - Present
EVS Broadcast Equipment is globally recognized as the leader in live video technology for broadcast and media productions. Really enjoying to work in a team of more or less 15 people where our main goal was to develop new features for a new web based product of the company. Being responsible for more or less 20 microservices, where the total pool was 110, with more than 100 developers working all together gave me a new perspective about developing software that i never had.
Focus on development of Java 11+ microservices/features related to video broadcast
Stack was composed by 100+ microservices written mainly in Java and C#, with a deployment on K8s single node setup
The microservices managed by the team were making usage of Java 11+, Spring Boot, and Junit 5. The communication between them was done trough Kafka messages or HTTP requests
Participate in all the Agile meetings: Daily`s, refinements, retrospective, etc.
Onboard new colleagues and guide the more Junior ones
Do daily code reviews from my colleagues code
Increase code coverage for a part of the code base that was lacking this
Debug and fix issues on the code base and also on the CI
Deployment of the dockerized microservices on our own setups used for testing, using K8s deployment files
Write some Component Tests as some Integration Tests
