Work Experience

Work Experience

  • Software Developer II,

    Mar, 2022 - Present

Team lead for Project Kuiper's test-host management and hardware test execution platform, which enables 1000s of integrated tests to run across 100s of venues every week.

    • Built queuing and scheduling components of the AWS Lambda + IoT + DynamoDB backend cloud service using infrastructure as code. This service allows humans and automations to split time on a venue without conflict and and has increased utilization of key hardware venues from 41% to 85%

    • Designed and implemented next-generation Docker + Go daemon that runs on every test host to receive and execute tests, manage the state of the host.

    • Coordinated migration of all hosts to new platform with minimal downtime of critical testing, emphasizing utilities and automation to ease the transition while working closely with the most important stakeholder teams.

    • Mentored college new-hire and intern while they learned about Project Kuiper and dove into our team's code base. Through regular conversations and paired coding, both quickly became key contributors to the team.

  • Software Developer I,

    Aug, 2020 - Mar, 20221 year 7 months

Helped grow a CLI testing tool built for a single team into the testing platform used across Project Kuiper

    • Became a core contributor to a C++/Python framework used in critical places throughout Kuiper. Maintained the Python components, and became one of only a few code approvers.

    • Wrote a CAN parsing library for use within my team which became a standard tool used across Kuiper.

    • Worked with another teammate to design and implement a prototype of a new version of the testing tool which could scale to meet the organization's demands and solve new use-cases.

    • To help the project meet a critical milestone on time, away-teamed with a hardware engineering team to write hardware/software integration tests for them. These tests became the archetype for other integration tests used to this day.

  • Software Engineering Intern,

    May, 2017 - Jan, 20188 months

    • Tested, selected, and optimized open-source machine learning tools to allow rapid, online input

    • Developed a suite of Docker containers for natural language processing and analysis.
