  • The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental intelligence organisation that devises threat response strategies to global cyber threats.
  • As part of my Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) project, I analysed the various methodologies in implementing CBDC systems, investigated the associated cyber, economic and geopolitical risks, and examined the efficacy of incorporating regulations to meticulously mitigate these risks.
  • At the end of my research, I drafted a whitepaper to elucidate central banks' policy considerations for successful CBDC development, as well as guide financial institutions on the best practices regarding their compliance with regulatory obligations to carefully manage the risks arising from the integration of CBDCs in their operations.

  • Vulnerability Assessment: Discovered vulnerabilities during end device activation in Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN), a networking protocol for the Internet of Things (IoT). By exploiting these vulnerabilities, I conceptualised various attack vectors to compromise the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of the communication between LoRaWAN devices and servers.
  • Vulnerability Mitigation: Leveraged security services on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to manage the security of an IoT fleet provisioned on the AWS cloud by means of automated audits and rule-based detection models to identify and isolate compromised IoT end devices expeditiously.
  • Vulnerability Patching: Executed firmware updates over the air to demonstrate how critical security vulnerabilities in the source code of deployed LoRaWAN devices can be patched remotely in a timely manner, thus minimising unnecessary exposure to malicious attacks.
